Welcome to the Barwon Rowing Club

The Barwon Rowing Club is Geelong’s largest rowing club and offers a range of programs to suit a wide range of abilities from raw beginner through to sub-elite/elite. Established in 1870, we are also one of the oldest sporting clubs in Geelong and Victoria.

Our Facilities

The new shed was opened in 2012 and boasts an extensive fleet, a well-equipped rower’s gym, and modern social/ function facilities. The fleet includes a range of training and racing boats from singles to eights, and the club is committed to maintaining a dynamic rollover plan.

Celebrate our history with this lavish coffee-table book. Each year of the club's history from 1870 to 2020 is briefly described and beautifully illustrated with an authentic photo. The story of the people and the sport, the ups and downs, and the way the club fitted into the wider history of the times and of rowing in Victoria and Australia.

Written by Karen O'Connor, the book is unique in completely documenting the club and its members. This is your history, and you will recognize the individuals (and perhaps be named yourself!)
