Visitors
Rowers visiting from other clubs are always welcome to join in a training session at Barwon; get in touch via our Contact page and we can make sure you’re set up with the right crew for you. A nominal fee covers insurance.
Coaches
The majority of our programs are coached by Sport Australia National Coaching Accreditation Scheme accredited coaches. Our coaches also have a variety of tools to assist rowers progress including Training Peaks to set training programs.
Fitness and Training
BRC runs regular off-water fitness sessions such as ergo/ bike training and core classes. Sessions on offer may change throughout the season, and a schedule can be found on the main page under ‘Training?’
The gym is accessible to members only and consists of a range of weight training equipment, watt bikes and, of course, ergos. In order to enhance members’ training plans, BRC uses Training Peaks. Training Peaks is a web-based app that allows users to plan and track their workouts. Coaches can set up programs for their athletes to follow, and each member is provided with basic access which allows them to see and update their allocated sessions.
