Boatlights

Boat Lights - Be Seen!

As the days get shorter and crews find themselves rowing in the dark it is important for us all to remember the rules (laws) around boat lights. If you are starting your session in the dark, or if your session may finish in the dark, then you must attach (and turn on) lights to your boat before getting on the water. Two white lights are required: one flashing light attached to the stern, and one continuous (solid) light attached to the bow. These lights are important for the safety of yourself, and for others on the river. To facilitate this the club now has a small number of "Club lights" which are sitting at the captains desk. These are attachable by velcro, and we are working to fit all boats with a velcro strip at the stern and bow over the next week, concentrating on the boats that have most frequently been booked early mornings or late evenings.
