Vale - Phil Morgan

It is with great sadness that I advise you of the passing of one of our Life members, Phil Morgan.

Some of Phils achievements are listed below which is only a small part of his invaluable involvement with the club over many years.

• Committee member 1959/60 to 1970/71 and 1983/84

• Vice President 1972/73-1983/84

• Life Member

Phil commenced rowing 1959/60 season with Peter McHugh, Brian Chandley and Bernard Gebbie. Within 3 years won Vic C'ship LW4 (#2 seat) (pictured) and was in the Penrith Cup.

Phil Morgan, 2 seat.

• 1965/66 Vic Junior 8 oared c'ship

• 1967 and 1972 again in Penrith Cup

• 1968 represented Vic in LW8

• 1975 Vic c'ship LW2

Some of the older members may remember Phils rowing gear that was framed in the male change rooms of the old shed.  That was a sight to behold.

Phils’ Funeral is to be held on Thursday the 17th August at 2.00 p.m. at William Sheahans Funeral Chapel, Crn High St and Murradoc Rds, Drysdale.
