As the days get shorter and crews find themselves rowing in the dark it is important for us all to remember the rules (laws) around boat lights. If you are starting your session in the dark, or if your session may finish in the dark, then you must attach (and turn on) lights to your boat before getting on the water. Two white lights are required: one flashing light attached to the stern, and one continuous (solid) light attached to the bow. These lights are important for the safety of yourself, and for others on the river. To facilitate this the club now has a small number of "Club lights" which are sitting at the captains desk. In that year the club achieved two major triumphs - it was the first non-metropolitan club to win the Victorian Rowing Association Junior Premiership and it achieved a “double double” - winning the Senior and Junior Eights at the Ballarat and Barwon regattas. The last race of the four, the Senior Eights at Barwon, was won by a canvas.
